Gary Tolchin began his career in finance by serving as a trading floor messenger. From there, he earned a position as a clerk with the brokerage firm of Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, where worked for 23 years. He earned promotions from commodities broker to principal (managing director), and brought in many new accounts. For his efforts, he often garnered listing as among the firm’s top 10 percent of brokers. Gary Tolchin Later moved to team leadership and directorship responsibilities at Goldman Sachs. He accepted his current position at MTS Investors in 2002.
Gary Tolchin also involves himself in athletic events and community projects. A sports fan, he plays basketball and roots for the Yankees and other New York professional teams. He currently serves on the board of Brookdale College, and has previously served on the boards of the Monmouth County Food Bank and Prevention First. To relax, Tolchin likes working on cars, watching horse races, and exercising.
